My first night is really sleepless in Seattledue to the damn jet lag. (>.<) It is 3:50 am now, and there are still 4.5 hours before the time we should get up. Ohhhhhh!!!!

Well, it is still hard to believe that I am in Seattle now for the following nine months. Everything here is so strange for me. The sense of unfamiliarity even makes me numb towards its beautiful scenery. Fortunately, all friends I meet in UW are really nice and enthusiastic. Without their kindness during this first day, I would not have any confidence to get through the rest nine months.

When arriving at Sea Tac Airport, I was totally useless while standing in front of those two heavy luggages. (-_-) Poor Aidan and Neil, in addition to their own luggage, they had to help me move mine all the time. About 2:30 pm, Simon and Anteony who I had contacted via TOSA come to pick Aidan and me up. We drove to visit Ruru who would have her second year in UW MBA right away.

Ruru took Aidan and me to open local bank accounts at Bank of America (BOA). I found my English is so so so poor and influent. (>.<). The clerk did not understand my question; neither did I understand her explanation about their services. Luckily, Ruru stayed with me again to be the interpreter. However, I felt somewhat embarrassed and frustrated. It really urged me to find that it is just the situation full of foreigners and English that I will be in for the continuous three semesters. (-_-“) Afterwards, beyond Ruru’s advice, we went for our T-Mobile cell phones in one store held by Koreans. Ha! There were some free cell phones for T-Mobile users to choose; thus it was my first time to have my phone with the digital camera. Though its color does not satisfied me, it matches well with my favorite cell phone chain BB gave me. ^^

It was nearly 6:30 after we settled down the bank accounts and T-Mobile. Hospitable Ruru invited several UW fresh graduates to have dinner at Thai 65. It was my first meal in Seattle. The dishes tasted good, but my mind was full of where to find a house for the following period. -_-

After dinner, everyone helped Aidan and me to move our huge luggages to our temporary place- Allegro Apt R406. It is really a high-class studio, but costs $30 one night. Because Neil also temporarily stayed in the same apartment, we went to visit him and tried to know new friends here. And then, something unbelievable happened!!

(up: sleeping bag, backpack,....and lots of stuff on the bed in Allegro R604-_-)

Neil lived in a 3-bed room with the other two UW MBA girls, Whitey and Carrie who have been in Seattle for almost a month. When seeing their room already furnished and filled with every necessity and commodities, I envy to death. (>.<) Continuously, Carrie brought us to another higher-class room, R318, in which another two MBA girls and one Marketing Ph. D girl live. They are Sunnie, Liyi, and Flower. This room is so great, especially the perfect-equipped kitchen. When Sunnie heard that I’m still looking for my place, she said that she just met one girl finding a female roommate this morning. Originally, I did not expect too much because Ben already helped me ask a girl also named Iris before dinner. That Iris had found a roommate who would study in UW language school. Therefore, I regarded this Iris Sunnie mentioned as the same one as that Ben phoned. Sunnie still helped me call that girl right away. Surprisingly, she was another Iris and was eager to find a roommate to share a 2-bed room!!! “Great!!” I shout to myself. Maybe the trouble I havolde been worried for several months would be solved immediately. Although Iris t Sunnie that she might not arrive home until eleven, I decided to see that place tonight.

Afterwards, Aidan, Neil, Sunnie and I went to see where Iris lives. It is in “Michelle Apartment” near the intersection of 9th Ave and 43 St. When entering the room, I thought mom’s 佛水 might really work well because I liked this room very much. It is simple and clean, a traditional western design. Also, Iris is a lovely girl who majors in LLM. Without much hesitation, I made my mind to rent the 2-bed room with Iris at the mean time. It must be the greatest news to mom and dad. Thus, when going back to Allegro R604, the temp place for my first night, I phoned mom and dad via Skpe to share my luck with them.

Hehehe, it is really a wonderful start for me in Seattle though it is hard to fall asleep this night. ^^
